Waiting on Wednesday (26)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine and it allows other bloggers to see which book releases you are highly anticipating.

Publication Date: July 21, 2011
Publisher: Razorbill

Lexi is cursed with a dark secret. Each day she goes to school like a normal teenager, and each night she must swim, or the pain will be unbearable. She is a siren - a deadly mermaid destined to lure men to their watery deaths. After a terrible tragedy, Lexi shut herself off from the world, vowing to protect the ones she loves. But she soon finds herself caught between a new boy at school who may have the power to melt her icy exterior, and a handsome water spirit who says he can break Lexi's curse if she gives up everything else. Lexi is faced with the hardest decision she’s ever had to make: the life she's always longed for - or the love she can't live without?

I will admit I have never read any books about Mermaids that didn't start with the words "The Little", but Ripple seems to be the optimal place to start. The fact that Lexi is not just a mermaid, but a deadly mermaid, sounds really awesome! Plus, this cover is stunning. It looks like you could reach out and touch the tree! Hurry up July!

What are YOU waiting on?

  1. This looks really cute, I'm waiting on it too :)

  2. I just found out about this one last week and added it. Sounds great! :)

    The Reading Housewives

  3. Ripple sounds so awesome! I can't wait for it as well, especially because there aren't many YA novels with sirens in them!! ^_^

  4. I love the cover especially when you look at the a bigger image of it and see all the little details. Great pick!

We love comments almost as much as the smell of new books! :)
