Her Breathless Kiss Haunts Him...
Bowen MacRieve of the Lykae clan was nearly destroyed when he lost the woman meant for him. The ruthless warrior grew colder, never taking another to his bed- until a smoldering encounter with his enemy, Mariketa the Awaited, reawakens his darkest desires. When sinister forces unite against her, the Highlander finds himself using all his strength and skill to keep her alive.

His Slow, Hot Touch is Irresistible...
Temporarily stripped of her powers, Mari is forced to take refuge with her sworn adversary. It's rumored that no one can tempt Bowen's hardened heart, but soon passion burns between them. Though a future together is impossible, she fears he has no intention of letting her go.

No Need it too Wicked for Her Seduction...
If they defeat the evil that surround them, can Mari deny Bowen when he demand her body and soul - or will she risk everything for her fierce protector?

Where do I even begin to review this book? First of all, Tori (Book_Faery) OMG!! this books was AMAZING! I see why you’ve read it 9 times. I want to go back and re-read it now. I find myself getting pulled in to this world, creating relationships with these fictional characters. Kresley Cole really knows how to grab a readers interest and keep it at the same intensity level through out.

Bowen’s story is heartbreaking. When we first meet him in A Hunger Like No Other, all I could feel was my heart break for him - even when the story was about Lachlain and Emma. He’s gone decades, wandering the world endlessly trying to find a way that will bring his mate, Mariah, back to him. Unlike other Lykae who usually end their life after the loss of their mate, Bowen continues his search without losing hope - until he meets the femme fatal Mariketa!
Okay, she isn’t exactly a femme fatal, but on occasion she definitely could have been. The relationship that develops between Mari and Bowen is one of passion, hate, lust, attraction and unfamiliarity. Bowen shouldn’t be feeling such strong feelings towards another and Mari’s prophecy deems that her mate will ultimately take her away from her clan and duty. From the beginning, their relationship seems fated and doomed.
This book also introduces new character who will be important in novels to come- such as Rydstrom, Cade and Carrow. Rydstrom is the coolest ex demon king I’ve ever come across and all I wanted to do was hit Cade. Carrow is pure hilarity, so I’m beyond excited to read Demon From the Dark in hope that this hilarity ensues.
Favourite line “...Fudge your name tag if have to, but get you some of that some-some. Remember, friends let friends live vicariously---” pg. 284
If Mari was my friend and Bowe her mate, I would definitely want to live vicariously if the real thing couldn’t happen.
This book kept me guessing as to what was going to happen and something insane happened around every corner.
The book produces action after action, keeping the reader gripped and on the edge of their seat. I couldn’t put it down! The banter between Bowe and Mari was funny, sexy, edgy and dangerous at times. What I loved about Mari was her fierce attitude. She has limited fear. She is willing to face her demons and battle through regardless of what is happening. Her ability to stand up to Bowe when his werewolf got the better part of him, had me cheering in her corner. What amazed me was how strong and brave she was but at the same time succumbed to her fear of heights. It showed that even the fearless, fear something.
I loved this book! I can’t get enough of it!!! Kresley Cole has definitely shot up to one of my favourite authors and favourite series.
