Corruption of the Seasons

I am currently sitting at work, watching the clock - I'm sure if I wasn't listening to music to keep me sane I would hear the tick tock of the enormous time teller - thinking that this summer has been a bust. Socially it's been pretty wicked. Naturally I'm not a party person so not hitting a required number of bars or clubs and finding myself in a drunken stupor every weekend was totally fine. So it has actually been uberally fantastic. I've hit up a few concerts/shows and there are still a few more to come. Along the way we are also going to hop in a car and drive for a week.

When I speak of summer being a bust I mean strictly in a weather sense. The weather has been pretty crappy to say the least. I can't even remember when there has been one nice day. Nice enough at least to tan and escape my overly pale complexion or get a good use out of my pool. No, instead we have been plagued with overcast skies, lightning that almost looks too enhanced to be real and mild temperatures.

It's funny that I should complain about the weather since personally I hate heat but I figure if we are suppose to get it one season out of every year, I might as well make the best of it. On a season level I'm a fall girl at heart and hold a soft spot for that white fluffy stuff. Fall just means wicked fashion, the changing of leaves into eye catching colours and a cool rain that makes me want to grab a nice book and just relax. That is fall though and what else do we expect from such a season? It rarely ever disappoints.

Lately however Summer has been a concoction of random seasons all jammed together. It has been depressing to say the least. Perhaps the fact that I was in school and also working full time hasn't helped out the awesomeness that could have been. Did I really miss much though being inside pretty much 24/7? It doesn't seem to be the case. More than enough pictures uploaded on facebook this Summer, cleverly all entitled "Summer 09" were of dark clouds with a glimpse of sun on occasion. Perhaps global warming has something to do with this phenomenon. One would think as the world becomes greener by choice or by force our summer's would be decent. It seems the reverse has in fact taken place. Our summer's are slowly declining on a scale of weather and temperature. Odd, don't you think?

Hopefully Fall 09 will bring with it some better weather and not disappoint. Although going back to school full time in order to make something out of my life may not be so much fun.
